What is Upwards pickleball
We are excited to be hosting Upwards Pickleball through the summer months of June and July at Winfield Baptist Church.
Pickleball is an easy-to-learn sport that is a combination of tennis, badminton, and table tennis rules. Each team is most commonly played with two players each. For Upwards Pickleball, more than one team per age group will practice and play with each other under the same coaches. This is to promote a fair season of games, as well as encourage consistent social interaction between the players and their teams, as well as promote a healthy competitive spirit.
Registration
Registration for Pickleball is open from the first week of April to the final week of May, with the season starting at the beginning of June.
In 2026, registration is now open until May 27th, 2026 with practices starting the week of June 1st, 2026.

How Does It WORk
Each team will have a one night commitment each week. We will be doing a “practice and play” format where the teams will all practice, have devotion, and games all on the same evening.
The first two weeks of the season the coaches will just run practices to ensure the rules are taught appropriately and to promote team bonding. After these first two weeks, games will begin during the second half of the session. Towards the end of the season, we will transition to having games the whole time.
Teams will be comprised of like or similar ages to promote fair competition. If detailed during registration, we will try and keep friends or family together assuming they are same or similar age.
