A meditation on Acts 3:20
Throughout our journey of faith in Christ we go through seasons. For some of us it has been the same season for a long time, and for others it seems like the seasons are constantly changing. No matter where you find yourself there is always a need for times of refreshing in the presence of God. Let’s face it we are creatures of habit. Most of you sit in the same pew and talk with the same people every Sunday. I’m not saying that is a bad thing. It simply illustrates my point that we are creatures of habit and far too often of comfort as well. I have asked Life Action Ministries to come, because we all need times of refreshing in the presence of the Lord. In Acts 3 Peter addresses his Jewish brothers who are in the Temple area most likely to worship. He says, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” It is my hope as we have Life Action come for 11 days in September that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. Each individual should be asking God: Where in my life have I become complacent? Where do I need to grow? How can I better serve? We can plan and prepare, but we need God to move in us for revival to come. So, would you join me in praying that God would come and move among us and revive us that we may better serve and love Him.
